State tax filing

So if my double-taxed income is 5000, the CA Schedule S form asks the following information:

7 Income tax liability paid to other state (use state’s abbreviation) See instructions ................... $200
8 Double-taxed income taxable by other state. Enter the amount from Part I, line 1, column (c) ................. 5000
9 Adjusted gross income taxable by other state. See instructions.............100,000

Line 9 is where I'm lost. The KS tax return shows adjusted gross income taxable by KS is 100,000 instead of 5000. If above numbers are correct, my CA credit is 200*5000/100000 = 10. I thought KS taxed me $200 on income 5000. The credit doesn't make much sense. Did I misunderstand Adjusted gross income taxable by KS?
