California Other State Tax Credit
My family moved from California to another state in mid-2019, and changed our residency from CA to this states at that time. We earned income in that state all year from property, both at the time that we were CA residents and continuing after we became non-residents and are paying taxes on this income to both states. This other state is not one of the ones that CA allows non-residents to claim a tax credit for from taxes paid. But I believe that we can still claim a CA tax credit for the taxes we paid to the other state for income we earned while we still were CA residents. But Turbo Tax will not allow me to proceed to filing while claiming this tax credit since we are not residents at year end. Should we be able to claim this credit and if so how can we get around this issue in Turbo Tax?
