State tax filing

It depends on what was withheld throughout the year if you have wages. If you are self-employed, the federal and the state must be paid quarterly estimates.

Employers require employees to submit the Federal Form W-4 for withholding federal taxes. Each state has their own form for withholding state taxes. These forms can be updated at any time. I suggest you take a look at how much tax has been paid for 2020 and make any adjustments necessary now to adjust how much money is being withheld throughout the rest of the year.

To help with this, I suggest this for the federal: IRS Tax Withholding Estimator.
