State tax filing
Only if Pennsylvania tax has been withheld. Maryland has a reciprocal agreement, on wages, with all neighboring states. No Pennsylvania taxes should have been withheld from your pay.
If Pennsylvania taxes were mistakenly withheld, you have to file a Pennsylvania return to claim a refund and file a Maryland return to pay the tax due. You should also ask your employer to stop withholding, so you don't have to file a Pensylvania return each year.
Please view the TurboTax information below to print an exemption form to give to your employer.
