State tax filing
Here's how to do your State returns if you live in PA but work in NY.
After you complete your Federal return, do a non-resident State of NY return (reporting only your income earned in NY).
Then when you file the resident return for PA, You report all of your income, including NY income.
You will then know the tax due to NY on the income above, and you will get a credit on taxes paid to NY.
