State tax filing
You must edit your w-2 and select Pennsylvania in box15. Then you must also enter the total amount of wages listed in box 1 as suggested above. It doesn't matter if the per copy of your W-2 matches what you enter in the state portion as you are doing so to properly calculate the Pennsylvania tax. Please follow the directions below to return to the income section of your return and edit the state information on your W-2.
- Open or continue your return.
- From the top menu, select Search and type-in W-2.
- Select the Jump to link in the search results.
- On the Here's your W-2 info screen, select Edit next to the W-2 you want to change.
- Scroll down to the state information boxes and select Pennsylvania in the drop-down box and enter the amount located in box 1 of your w-2 in the state wages box.
