State Tax filing? and TT program limits?

I have not finished my Federal Tax return because the deadline has been extended to July 15, however, we have yet to get a message on whether the State of MI tax filing date as been extended past 4/15/20. My Fed return has my income data entered, but it is incomplete due to the deadline extension, but the Fed part of the program transferred that income date to the State part of the program. Since  the program is showing a refund on my MI return, I'd like to file it now, but the problem is that once Turbo Tax transferred my Fed income date to the State return it says MI return is now done. The State return edit button will not allow me to go into the MI return and enter deductibles like state property taxes paid etc. The only other State option is filing another State return which does not apply to me. Is the Turbo Tax program only set up to allow filing of a State return after all data has been entered into the Federal return? Seems really short sighted if that is the case. Have used TT for years but this years program seems to have lots of programming glitches. Please advise. D. J. McKay
