As promised, I purchased a competitive tax program. I put in the same information and received the same result with respect to payment due to federal and state. HOWEVER, I was able to e-File successfully without a message that I was allegedly claiming earned income tax credit.
I guess I'll use the competitor going forward. I'll let the forum know if Turbotax is willing to do the right thing and provide a refund.
