State tax filing
Please review the input by revisiting the Child and Dependent Care section.
To get there in your program, follow these steps.
- From the left menu, select Federal
- Deductions and Credits
- All tax breaks scroll down to You and Your Family click Show More
- Child and Dependent Care Credit click Revisit
You cannot edit this in the state section. But you can see it listed for the full Massachusetts amount by following these steps:
- From the left menu, select State
- Continue
- Massachusetts click Edit
- You should now be at the summary page for Massachusetts. The Child and Dependent Care Credit is in the Adjustments section. By revisiting this section, about 2/3 through the questions, you will see the amount that will be reported for the Massachusetts Child and Dependent Care Credit in the larger amount allowed for the state for qualified expenses.
Qualified expenses are care expenses paid to a qualified provider and cannot include amounts deducted from your wages.
