State tax filing

Good evening. Because Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming don't have income tax. If you're a resident of one of these states, you don't need to file a return in that state. Please review the following FAQ for additional information.

Tennessee residents only file a tax return if their interest and dividend income exceeded $1,250 ($2,500 for joint filers). More info

  • If you need to remove a state from your return because you don't have to file it, I have provided those instructions below. Otherwise, TurboTax will provide you the option to select "skip state".
