State tax filing
Yes, Virginia does provide a deduction, from federal adjusted gross income in calculating Virginia taxable income, for long-term care insurance premiums for individuals who do not claim a similar deduction on their federal tax returns.
Select the State tab. If you did not already take the deduction on your federal return, enter the premiums on your state return on the page, Long-Term Care Insurance Premiums Paid.
