First, on the outside chance that you do not need to file a Utah return, click here for who must file Utah TC-40.
Second, I recommend going through a systems check and program update.
- Start by closing and re-opening the program.
- Check that your device meets system requirements. (If it does not, I recommend trying on another device. If you are using the Desktop version, the CD can be downloaded on up to 5 devices.)
- Update the program and clear the cache & cookies
- For Online, follow these steps:
- Sign out of TurboTax
- Clear cache & cookies, which in general is done by holding down Ctrl+Shift+Del. Under the Basic tab, clear data for at least 24 hours, but preferably 7 days
- Close your browser window
- Re-open TurboTax, preferably in Chrome
- For Desktop, if the state is not populating, I recommend doing a manual update and then re-downloading the State for Windows; for Mac
