If you want to see if your Online return will let you download the *.tax2019 data file to use in desktop software, here's how to try:
- Log in and open your return interview back up.
- Once the return is open, go to the left column menu, and choose TAX TOOLS, then TOOLS.
- In the Tools popup window, choose "Save your 2019 return to your computer."
If it lets you download the *.tax2019 data file, then you can open it in 2019 desktop software once TurboTax Support provides it for you.
NOTE: Remember all tax data files and PDF tax documents are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc. Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.
