State tax filing
1. Your state voucher may have another name. You can choose to pay state with direct debit from your checking account. If you choose direct debit, it will not print a voucher to mail.
2. The set of 4 was created because of what you owed this year. You can mail them in quarterly or simply change your W4 withhodlings for federal and state. The federal and state systems are "pay as you go". They want their money as you earn it.
You can use the W4 planner in the program under other tax situations. You can change your W4 at work as often as you like. You can also use the IRS W4 planner anytime throughout the year.
3. Yes, you can efile. That is easier. When you select to efile, the program will ask if you want to mail the check or have the state directly debit your account. A direct debit is the easiest and safest.
4. You can choose pay by mail and then pay your state using another method. Not knowing which state, I can not advise. Here is a list of all states departments of revenue, you can call your state tax office and ask them about paying.
