How to correct return for combo of two states and some residency in both?
Hello!
In 2019 I lived in Maryland from the beginning of the year until 05/27 then moved to Texas for the rest of the year (2 states). I worked for employer A from the beginning of the year until 08/02, then worked for employer B from 08/05 until the end of the year. Between 05/28 and 08/02 I worked remotely from TX for employer A and thus my paychecks stopped paying MD taxes during this time. I have one W2 for each employer and not much else, so I have a fairly straightforward tax return other than the two states part. I will be filing a federal and a MD return as single.
I completed my information on TurboTax but I evidently missed something. My MD return is now showing I owe an exorbitant amount (should not be the case based on past year's return and lack of changes in my pay). I am pretty sure this is due to TurboTax assuming I was a resident of MD much longer than I actually was (and thus I did not pay enough taxes).
Where in the application should I go back to so I can correct this so that my MD income and taxes are only accounted/calculated between 01/01 and 05/27?
Thanks!!
Thanks!
