State tax filing
No, you don't add your 2019 tax information to 2020. Enter your NJ and NC W-2's into TurboTax.
You would file file a part-year resident return form NJ. In the TurboTax Personal Info section, you will enter both NJ and NC with the dates you lived in each state.
- You are a part-year resident of a state if your permanent home is located there for a portion of the tax year, for example if you moved from one state to another. See What is my state residency status?
- See also How do I file if I moved to a different state last year?
