State tax filing
You do not have to file a Mississippi return, if the W-2G is your only Mississippi income.
- Per the Mississippi instructions:
- Gambling winnings reported on a Form W-2G are subject to a non-refundable 3% income tax.
- A non-resident with only gambling winnings and/or losses should not file a Mississippi tax return.
