Due to the nature of my tax return, Turbo Tax is unable to e-file my Federal Tax return. N.Y. state requires me to e-file my tax return if I use a tax service such as Turbo Tax, however, according to Turbo Tax I cannot e-file my state tax return until I have e-filed my federal tax return. The only option left to me is to mail both returns in. Will I suffer a penalty for mailing my state tax return in and is there something else I can do?
