New jersey non-resident refund real estate GIT
My mother sold her home in New Jersey in 2015 after the death of my Dad and moved out of state to live with children. She sold the home less than 2 years from his death and owes no capital gains on the sale (It was less than $500,00.)
As a non-resident at the time of the sale, New Jersey took the standard 2% GIT at the time of sale.
She should receive a refund of this GIT
I do not find a line in Turbo Tax that allows me to enter the amount she is owed, nor do I see a place to request this refund.
How do I go about getting her refund?
