You will file as a Maryland resident.
In the Personal Info section of Turbo Tax, select Maryland as your state of residence and indicate you did NOT live
in another state in 2016. Time spent away from your resident state on
military orders is treated the same as if you had been present in your home
state the entire time.
This should trigger the Maryland resident return.
