I am still paying taxes for a state I no longer live or work in. How can I fix this?
I am originally from Maryland and while I was in college in West Virginia, I worked for a company based out of Florida. I had non-resident West Virginia taxes taken out of my paycheck. However, when I graduated from college in May of 2018, I remained with the company but moved to a location in Maryland. However, I just realized I have still been paying taxes to both states. When I was hired I told my boss I was once again living in Maryland and I guess she forgot to change my tax documents and I was never offered new ones to fill out. Is there a way to get the money back I paid to West Virginia for the past several months?
