State tax filing

As you are entering your information, you will enter your state of residence as of the end of the tax year.  Then, there is another question that asks if you lived in another state during the year.  You will answer Yes, and enter your previous state of residence, along with some additional information.

Depending on the states and whether you had income in both states, you may be need to file a part-year resident state tax return for both states.  TurboTax will help you determine if this is required based on your inputs for the Federal return.
