I moved mid-year from MA (a state with income tax) to TX (a state without income tax). Why is MA charging me tax on income earned while living in TX?

Although Turbotax's state filing had me apportion my income for the year, the MA (non-resident & part-year resident) return shows my entire 2016 income as taxable. I've read several similar question/answers (the most relevant being this one - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2807293-income-allocation-to-massachusetts-after-move) and Turbotax seems to suggest that this is expected, because I'll then be credited that tax when filing for my resident state. The problem is that my resident state, TX, does not require a return, since there is no state income tax. How am I supposed to handle this?
