State tax filing
Thank you for your reply. Sorry, I didn't do a good explanation on the 1st post. I entered ALL info (both W2, all our 1099-INT/DIV etc) in Federal return correctly. I didn't miss anything while reporting all our income to Federal.
If you meant that you didn't include her W-2 income (that you already entered in TurboTax) on your California return, then you won't need to amend your Federal return.
That above ^^^ is what I meant. I forgot to take wife's W2 and my 401k contribution into account when calculating income as CA partial resident. I reported 1099-INT/DIV + my gross income while living in CA.
I'm supposed to subtract that amount with my 401k contribution (up to the last day in CA) and add wife's W2 income to get the correct amount. As a result I over reported the income. I hope I explain it better this time. That's what I'm trying to amend.
Yes, FTB has withdrawn the amount I owe last week. I think I'll submit my amended State return and just ignore the Federal return (not submit it at all) since I'm not changing anything there.
