State tax filing

No, you do not have to file for Illinois.  As active duty military, you retain the state of residence you had when you enlisted (domicile/home of record).  All of your Active Duty pay is reported and taxed by your resident state regardless of where you earned it.  This saves you from having to file tax returns while you are active duty.
