how do I separate my taxes by state? I moved to a different state in October, I only pay state taxes on income I earned in that state not my entire income for the year?

lived in FL (no state tax) until October then moved to Oh so I only pay state taxes on my Ohio income right? or do I have to pay state taxes on my income for the whole year?
