Virginia State Tax
Virginia state does not tax Social Security survivor benefits. However, TurboTax is not correctly calculating my Virginia return due to the new federal law that excludes the first $6,000 of Social Security benefits from taxation. As a result, TurboTax is incorrectly including that $6,000 in my Virginia taxable income, causing me to pay state tax on income that should not be taxed.
