State tax filing
The new rule that doesn't tax overtime, means that when you work extra hours, the government may not tax your income on that extra pay. You would still see the overtime money on your paycheck and tax forms, but you get a special write-off so less of it is taxed. This only affects federal income taxes, not Social Security, Medicare, or most state taxes.
