I purchased Turbotax Deluxe 2025 with federal and state return included and 1 federal free efile.
I am a nonresident in california and US for whole of 2025. I entered my address as "Foreign address".
Turbotax Deluxe computes my federal taxes correctly.
1) When I go to State return, it says CA tax= $0 because I lived outside US and
I do not need to file California return!
That is NOT correct. California requires me to file 540NR for my California source income.
Part-year resident and nonresident | FTB.ca.gov
2) I clicked on "Get another State" and tried to download California version and
it is charging me another $40, though my Turbotax Deluxe includes 1 free State return!
Can you please correct errors in Turbotax Deluxe 2025, so that I can file 540NR ?
