State tax filing
rpdo24: I think it's not unlikely that you'll hear from the OR Dept of Revenue. After a lot of indirect and unreliable research about their their internal workings, even if TT doesn't block your OR efiling due to the override, OR is likely still to recognize that an override was done. It would be understanable that they are especially concerned about overrides under Subtractions.
For this and the other reasons mentioned in my earlier post, I continue to print out and mail my OR tax returns. The paper forms do not show when an override has been made. So far, there have never been any problems. If my experience is useful to others, that's the course I would recommend for people who are justified in overriding Subtractions in order to claim a legitimate deduction for the specific agencies that are state tax-exempt.
It's inexcusable that both brokerages and TT do not recognize those federal agency bonds whose interest is state tax-exempt and provide a simple way to enter this information.
