We moved from NJ to CA 31 Dec 2016. my fife worked remotely and first paycheck in the year was for NJ taxes. Do we need to claim NJ nonresident tax form?
Hi everybody,
Probably somebody can help me with my issues:
1. We moved from NJ to CA 31 Dec 2016. My wife used to work remotely, and her employer paid first salary at the 2017 as for NJ (and paid NJ state tax instead of CA).
2. I stopped working in my previous company in NJ 30 Dec 2016 (last day of work), but my previous employer sent me a W2 for 2017 for $3.15 (huge amount of money:)
3. For some reason my wife's previous employer also paid NY state tax during all 2017.
The questions is:
Do we need to claim NJ state tax as nonresident?
Do we need to claim NY state tax as nonresident?
Thank you!!!!
