I don't know what state you're filing in. Your state payroll tax withholding wouldn't be a part of your state return, so your payroll tax ID very well may not be required on your state tax return. It's not required in my state (Georgia), even though there is a place on page one to enter it. Payroll tax is administered by the Department of Labor and Income Tax by the Department of Revenue - two separate state agencies. If there's no place to enter it, I wouldn't worry about it.
