State tax filing
Indiana requires nonresidents to file a tax return if they have any Indiana-sourced income.
If this income is reported to you on a 1099-R as a distribution from a qualified retirement plan, it's sourced based on where you lived when you received the income so it would not be taxable in Indiana. Therefore, you would not need to file an Indiana return.
