State tax filing

TurboTax does not support DR 0252.   You may use the Colorado Department of Revenue’s free e-file and account management system, Revenue Online(opens in new window), to file your consumer use tax return.  You do not need to log in to Revenue Online to file a return.

Revenue Online will let you know which local use taxes are required based on your address and will give you the appropriate tax rates as you go through the return filing.   Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Go to Colorado.gov/Revenue Online(opens in new window).
  2. In the “Sales and Use Tax” menu panel, click on “File a Consumer Use Tax Return”
  3. Using the drop-down, indicate the time frame when the last purchase being filed for occurred.
  4. Read the information on the page. Then click “Continue”
  5. Follow the steps to enter your information and file your return.
  6. Once you have submitted your return, click the “Make a Payment button”
  7. Select the payment type, and follow the steps to make your payment.
