State tax filing
What does this mean: "My flights originate in Denver but I’m not working within Colorado."? Surely, you are working at least some in (over) Colorado, right?
List all your flight miles, and figure out if any state has more than 50%. If so, you file that state as a non-resident.
For background, please see this thread.
It may be that you don't have to file a non-resident state, but do have to file your resident return in Texas...or you would if Texas had a an individual income tax (I'm from Texas). So possibly you don't have to file any state return at all.
