The source of the problem?????
On one 1099-R, there is nothing in box 4 (fed inc tax wh) and box 2a (taxable amt). There is data in boxes 14-16 (State). In the forms view, I see the amount from this 1099-R is highlighted in RED. I have no idea why.
On a different 1099-R there is an amount in the state tax withheld box (14), but no amount in the State Distribution box(16). This amount and the amount above add up correctly to the amount shown on the State schedule of Ohio withholding on form IT 1040 in Total Tax Withheld in the 1099-R section.
This is the same amount on the State 1040 line 14 (Ohio income tax withheld).
