Double State Residency - Tax in second inaccurate
Hello, I have a couple of questions when using TurboTax for two states.
RESIDENCY
I lived out of state in Michigan for 10 months of 2024 and only spent 2 months here in Missouri
I'm filing as a part-time resident in the prior state (MI)
Can I also be a part-time resident in Missouri since I've only been there for 2 mos?
TurboTax defaults to Resident, and there is no way I can see to change it.
MISSOURI TAXES
Even though I stated that 10 months of my income was earned in MI (Using the "Taxes paid to Michigan" option.) When I look at my Missouri bottom line it shows my taxable income higher than it should be.
I also put the income I earned in MI in the "Other Income Also Taxed" and "Federal Adjustments" but nothing changed. Somehow my Missouri state taxes are more than double my MI taxes and I only lived here for 2 months. What am I missing?
