Return cannot be e-filed when the sum of Illinois wages + out of state wages on all W-2s does not equal total wages on IL Schedule CR. Part-Year Returns with Credit for Tax Paid to Other States (Schedule-CR) are ineligible for electronic filing.
I filed my taxes as a part-year resident for Illinois and Arizona. I only paid state taxes for Arizona, although I moved to Illinois in July. I adjusted my income to reflect that made in AZ vs. IL, but I received an error after filing the IL state taxes that I am ineligible for e-filing. Is this correct? Do I need to complete mail-in taxes? TIA.
Should Line 1 on form IL-1040 column A be my total income? It autofills the income I reported for my time in IL and I cannot edit it. Column B is editable, although I confirmed it is correct (AZ income/non-IL income). Because I moved in late July, my income in AZ is greater than IL.
