I live in NJ and had 2 NY-based employers in 2024. One sent me a W-2 with NY and NJ lines, while the other sent me with only a NY line. How do I handle in Turbotax?
I asked the one that only sent me a NY W-2 (let's call them "Employer 2"), and they said it was because I worked out of the NY office and they did not have a NJ presence (the other employer did in fact have a NJ presence).
I understand that NJ and NY tax calculate taxable income differently. Do I have to do anything special in TurboTax to make sure I report the NJ taxable income from Employer 2 correctly, or will TurboTax automatically calculate that, as well as the section that asks me about duplicative income?
