The Homestead Property Tax Credit can be used to reduce the amount of taxes owed. If your tax bill is less than the amount of the credit, you can get the difference back as a refund.
The amount of credit that you qualify for will show on form MI Homestead Property Tax Credit Claim MI-1040CR line 44 and to form MI-1040, line 25.
