Even though I am a NH resident, she advised me not to check the box that stated My state New Hampshire does not tax all of this interest when inputting the 1099 INT. Also, when you click on "Learn more" about that in blue, it stated there were 6 states which handle the interest differently and only 5 states were listed. Turbotax needs to fix this error. I have to tell you, I spent the entire day on this speaking with CSRs and supervisors, and at 5 p.m. last night, this one person, her name is Nia, knew how to handle this. At one point, a supervisor was telling me I had to upgrade to "Live Tax Advice". I knew I had to pay taxes to my state, but Turbotax was telling me I "owed nothing and everything looked good". Not the case.
