State tax filing

Yes, in general, you should work through your non-resident returns first and then complete your resident return.  

 

You may be able to claim a credit for taxes paid to another state on your resident return.  If that non-resident return has already been completed, then TurboTax will be able to transfer the appropriate information for you to claim the credit.
