California State tax filing by mail - why are the instructions asking to include Forms W-2G,592-B, 593?
I am about to mail my 2021 tax return and am confused about the instructions on the TurboTax coversheet.
It asks me to attach the following to my California tax return:
- any Form(s) W-2G. Also attach any 592-B, 593, and 1099s that have California withholding to the front of your
return. Do not attach any Forms(s) W-2.
I haven't participated in any gambling let alone have any gambling winnings so I don't know why the instruction to include Form W-2G.
Buyers/ Sellers involved in California real estate transactions are required to fill out Form 593. However I haven't purchased or sold any real estate in 2021 so I am confused why TurboTax is asking me to attach form 593. Same for 592-B.
Based on my tax returns shouldn't the software be able to figure out that I don't require to attach these?
