State tax filing
If you no longer have LLCs, you should report that the businesses closed in the federal taxes section to eliminate Schedule C for those businesses. This should remove the businesses from your California state tax return as well as any Forms 568.
For your current Schedule C business, follow these steps to confirm you have reported the business is not a SMLLC:
- Open your return and click on State Taxes.
- On the California Taxes page, click Edit beside Income and adjustments.
- Under Business, click Start/Revisit beside Business Profit or Loss Adjustment.
- Click Edit beside the business that's creating Form 568.
- Click "NO" that this business was not owned by a Single Member LLC.
- If necessary, delete any remaining Forms 568 from your forms list.
