State tax filing
Yes, that is correct. You need to complete your non-resident state first, in your case MA. Then, you'll be able to enter a credit for the taxes you paid in MA for your resident CT taxes.
You'll need to 'remove' the states and begin the state sections over again. To do so:
- Within TurboTax Desktop for Mac, select the "Forms" mode from the top left icon of the software.
- In forms mode, click "File" from the top computer menu and select "Remove Data" and then one of the states. You'll be asked to confirm you want to "Remove" the return. When you go back to "File" you'll have the option to select "Remove other state Data" and confirm.
- Switch back to the main software by clicking the "EasyStep" icon in the top left.
- Head back into the 'State Taxes' tab and you'll be able to begin again.
