State tax filing

In general, you file state taxes for the state where your work was performed.  So if all of your work was performed in your resident state, you would only file at state return for your resident state.

If you did travel to the non-resident state for work purposes, then you would need to check the filing requirements for that state to see if a non-resident return is also required.
