How about entering CO residency dates all together, that is make your initial residency from January to August instead of July, so that you end up with the right number of months on CO? I don't think this will negatively affect either CO or NY, if you put all the CO months together.
You are trying to enter numbers in CO to get the right results for CO and NY. When you do get the right numbers, declare victory. Remember that is it not wrong to fib to TurboTax in order to get the right results - you just need to document everything so that if anyone ever asks, you can explain why you did what you did.
