State tax filing
I started a job on February 1st and am under the impression that I need to File a tax return as NJ Non Resident (domiciled in Florida but spent 183 days or less in NJ), the NJ Tax instructions for the NJ-1040NR says that I need to enter the income in (Column A) Amount of Gross Income (Everywhere) I received and in (Column B) amount From New Jersey Sources.
I work totally remotely for a company that is not based in NJ and am trying to understand what (if any) income would come from New Jersey Sources?
Does New Jersey sourced income mean the income I received for the days I physically worked remotely in NJ (rather than in Florida)? If so, am I just dividing my gross income by the workdays (not calendar days) I am in New Jersey?
