State tax filing
Taxable scholarship money is not considered earned in the state where the school is. It is considered earned in the student's state of residence. So, you just don't file a LA return. If you have to file a LA return because of other income, e.g. a job there, you don't include the scholarship income on the LA return. You do report it on the AL resident return.
