State tax filing
Yes, you would need to file a Part-Year Resident State Return for both Virginia and DC.
If you are able to identify the income you earned while living in DC, and if you paid any DC tax, TurboTax will calculate the tax for each state.
If the correct amount of Virginia tax was withheld on your VA income, then you would break even there or get a small refund.
However, if VA tax was withheld on DC income, then yes, you may owe DC.
Prepare your VA return first, then DC.
